Respect For King Rama IX & His Passing
After being in Thailand for 3 weeks and learning about King Rama IX I have great respect for him. He was an amazing man and truly an inspiration king and leader of Thailand. He was possibly the greatest leader from the 20th century. I wish Western civilization could have a leader of this caliber but it will never happen because of how corrupted by money the west is. Never thought I would say a monarchy is a better option then democracy but more and more it seems democracy is

Patong First Impression
So far I kinda like the crazy of Patong more then Bangkok. It's definitely busy, Honolulu busy and it is a tourist trap this time of year unfortunately. Twice the price on almost everything far as souvenirs and restaurants. Still cheap compared to the US but not for Thailand. At least it's all good food. LOTS of people this time of year, it's sorta fun to me to walk around and see all the different people and store rackets. Alot of hard selling happening on the street. Sort o
A Kind Family I Met...
I almost forgot to share. After the amphawa floating market I totally had an awesome experience with a Japanese and Thai family inviting me to spend time with them when they saw I was alone. They kept getting me loaded on whisky haha they could pack it away, I was impressed. They shared some areas in Japan I should see also so guess I gotta go. If anyone has seen "Louie" TV show with Louis CK it reminded me of the episode he goes to China out of the blue and a family invited

Ayutthaya Sukhothai Historical Park
This is a map of Sukhothai Historical Park. Founded in 1350 Ayutthaya was once the capital of Thailand, in the day in he country was known as Siam. Until the 18th century when the Burmese army destroyed the city in a very vindictive way, they raised the city to the ground almost. Ayutthaya was my first stop when I visited Thailand. I really wanted to see the ancient remains of the capital. Little models show how magnificent the city use to look. There was much more but I too

Choose your Market Wisely
To many people when they think of South East Asia they picture floating markets as one of the biggest settings. The hustle of people buying & selling with all the colors of clothing & food. What photographer wouldnt want to go & shoot that. I certainly did, so I serached for the top one listed online & in tour guides. Damneon Saduak Floating Market was it. I booked a room there so i could stay over night & shoot in the morning. Planned it all out & was ready for it. The very

Khao Lak
Went to Khao Lak to go SCUBA the Richelieu Rock but a typhoon in the ocean ended that dream fast. It rained the whole time so not to many pics. I shot this out of my rooms window of the traditional style roofing. So now I had 2 free days now of room service, massages & photo editing. Not a bad trade, really I hadnt rested yet in my trip. Honestly though I would take swimming with a whale shark over that any day. So I checked the town out. Khao Lak is pretty much a couples an

Vise Versa
Funny thing I noticed. So far in Bangkok the music selection at nice places & massage spas is very classical and western, like mozart. Struck me as funny cause in the states those same places are playing Asian or Zen type music half the time. I've notice that east and west seem to be copying each other in many ways for style & design. The cross exchange is interesting to see when you can see it from both sides. I love this photo "4G Monk" that i took. Classic ancient & modern

Bangkok First Impressions
After a arriving to BKK I had a driver take to my hotel. As he was flying by like a bat out of hell weaving in and out of lanes I got to see a little glimpse of the city. The clash of many periods of construction and development is fascinating, not that America doesn't have that. But here you have gorgeous buildings right next to buildings that are about to collapse from the look. I also love how every power pole here has two stories of a tangled mess of wires. After a great
